{"id":3521,"date":"2022-05-09T09:13:25","date_gmt":"2022-05-09T04:43:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iccci.ir\/en\/?p=3521"},"modified":"2022-05-09T09:13:26","modified_gmt":"2022-05-09T04:43:26","slug":"iran-becomes-20th-worlds-largest-economy-despite-sanctions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iccci.ir\/en\/iran-becomes-20th-worlds-largest-economy-despite-sanctions\/","title":{"rendered":"Iran becomes 20th world\u2019s largest economy despite sanctions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>According to the statistics of International Monetary Fund (IMF), Iran was turned into the 20th largest economy in the world in spite of tough sanctions imposed against the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the latest ranking of the world&#8217;s largest economies, Iran was ranked 20th at the international level, higher than countries such as Poland, Egypt, the Netherlands, Argentina, Switzerland, Belgium and Austria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the release of statistics on the gross domestic product (GDP) of 193 countries in the world according to Purchasing Power Index (PPI) in 2021, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) put&nbsp;Iran&#8217;s rank at 20th as the largest economy in the world in spite of harsh sanctions imposed against the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to IMF, the value of Iran\u2019s GDP&nbsp;based on its PPI&nbsp;in 2021 exceeded $1,436 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the imposition of tough sanctions against Iran over the past years, Iran\u2019s economy stood larger than 173 countries in 2021, the report added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another statistic showed that countries including Egypt, Thailand, Pakistan, the Netherlands, Argentina, South Africa, the UAE, Switzerland, Belgium, Sweden, Austria, Norway, Portugal, Greece, Finland, Oman and Kuwait had small-scale economies than Iran in 2021.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to the statistics of International Monetary Fund (IMF), Iran was turned into the 20th largest economy in the world in spite of tough sanctions imposed against the country.
