Iran\u2019s export of steel products increased by 56 percent in the first month of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-April 20), as compared to the same month of the past year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As reported, the country exported 220,000 tons of the products in the first month of this year, while the figure was 184,000 tons in the first month of the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As previously announced by the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA), Iran exported 3.199 million tons of steel products in the past Iranian calendar year 1401 (ended on March 20).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The country\u2019s steel products export fell six percent in 1401, as compared to 1400 when the figure was 3.406 million tons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The World Steel Association (WSA) in its latest report announced that Iran is ranked eighth among the world\u2019s top steel-producing countries in April, rising one place in the list of the world\u2019s top steel-makers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The latest report released by the WSA shows that Iran\u2019s crude steel output has increased 5.9 percent in the mentioned month while the global average growth rate stood at \u2013 2.4 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Based on the WSA data, Iran produced 3.1 million tons of crude steel in the mentioned month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the Islamic Republic produced 9.7 million tons of steel in the first four months of 2023, registering a 0.1 percent growth compared to the same period in the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
WSA report says that the world\u2019s 64 steel producers managed to produce 161.4 million tons of the commodity in April, 2.4 percent less than the figure for the previous year\u2019s same period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The steelmakers produced 622.7 million tons of steel in the first four months of this year, which indicates a 13 percent drop compared to the same period last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the WSA report, China, India, Japan, the U.S., and Russia were the world\u2019s top steel producers respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Iran has maintained its place as the world\u2019s 10th biggest steel producer during the mentioned four months, according to the WSA data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Iranian steel industry has been constantly developing over the past years against all the pressures and obstacles created by outside forces like the U.S. sanctions and the coronavirus outbreak that has severely affected the performance of the world\u2019s top producers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Back in February, the WSA reported that Iran\u2019s crude steel production increased by eight percent in 2022 when the production by the world\u2019s top 64 steelmakers declined by 4.2 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Iran was ranked first among the world\u2019s top steel producers in terms of production growth in the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Based on the WSA data, Iran produced 30.6 million tons of crude steel in the mentioned year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, WSA stated that crude steel production by the world\u2019s top 64 producers fell 4.2 percent to stand at 1.787 billion in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Production by Europe\u2019s major steel producers also declined significantly last year so that Germany\u2019s production declined by 8.4 percent, Italy experienced negative growth of 11.6 percent, France\u2019s output declined by 13.1 percent, Spain registered a negative 19.2 percent growth and the UK a 15.6 percent decline in steel production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the World Steel Association, Iran was the world\u2019s 10th top steel producer over the past two years, after countries like China, India, Japan, and Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The country is expected to climb to seventh place among the world\u2019s top steel producers by the Iranian calendar year 1404 (March 2025).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
