Ports in Iran’s southern Bushehr Province handled 29.87 million tons of goods during the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21-Sept. 22), registering an 18.8% rise compared with the similar period of last year, according to a local port official.
“Container throughput stood at 106,290 TEUs, registering a 22.7% year-on-year rise,” Mohammad Shakibi-Nasab, director general of Bushehr Ports and Maritime Organization, was also quoted as saying by the news portal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
The official noted that in the last 10 years, the private sector invested 493.4 trillion rials ($13.9 million) in local port projects.
