An Iranian official says China has declared its readiness to participate in all maritime projects in Iran.
Chairman of the Secretariat of Iran’s High Council of Marine Industries Saeed Ja’fari said on Monday that Iranian and Chinese authorities had agreed to expand maritime cooperation between the two countries during a recent visit by Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to Beijing.
Ja’fari said that Raisi’s trip to China was a good opportunity to discuss obstacles in the way of implementing maritime projects between Iran and China.
He said Iran seeks to boost it shipbuilding capacities by relying on technology provided by Chinese companies.
The official said a new round of talks between Iranian and Chinese maritime authorities is expected to take place in mid-May in Tehran with the presence of a delegation from China.
Ja’fari said the Chinese side has announced it is ready to provide limitless amount of investment to joint maritime projects in Iran.
