The Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) has announced that Iran has exported $137 million worth of pistachio to other countries during the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 to September 22, 2023).
According to IRICA, Iran has exported around 20,000 metric tons (mt) of high-quality pistachio nuts that represents a 7% increase compared to the same period last year.
According to the report, some 11% of the total value of Iran’s agricultural exports and 57% of the total value of non-oil exports during the mentioned period had been pistachio exports.
As much as 57.7% out of the total value of Iran’s pistachio exports in the first half of the current Iranian year was exported to Russia, Germany, the UAE, India and Kyrgyzstan.
