Iran has exported more than 3.5 billion tons of agricultural and food products worth $2.4 billion during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21-September 22), an Iranian economic official has said.
Rouhollah Latifi, the spokesman of the Iranian House of Industry, Mine and Trade’s Trade Development Commission at the Iranian industry ministry said on Tuesday that Iran exported 67.7 billion tons of non-oil goods worth $24.1 million during the first six months.
He added that over 3.5 million tons worth $2.4 billion of fisheries, livestock, agricultural, and food products have been exported registering 6 percent of the weight and 10 percent of the total value of exports in the said period.
Of this amount, 424.871 tons worth $616 million were dedicated to the export of livestock, fisheries, and dairy products, registering 44% and 37% growth in tonnage and value, respectively, compared to last year’s corresponding period, he noted.
The exports mainly included raisins, dates, saffron, eggs, watermelons, pistachios, fishery products, tomatoes, and dairy products, he said.
