The export of agricultural products from Qazvin province increased by six folds in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-November 21), as compared to the same period of time in the past year, according to a provincial official.
Yousef Derakhshan, a director of the Agriculture Department of the province, said that 15,109 tons of agricultural products were exported from the province in the eight-month period.
He named the growing bed of mushrooms, raisins, peas, fruits (grapes, nectarines, and plums), lettuce, and tomatoes as the main exported products, and Iraq, Canada, Russia, Bulgaria, Poland, Italy and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the major export destinations.
Due to the high quality of the province’s agricultural products, they are exported to other countries every year, the official further highlighted.
