Export of non-oil goods from Iran’s Chabahar Port up 13%

The export of non-oil commodities from Chabahar Port has increased by 13% over the past nine months in comparison to the same period last year, an Iranian official announced.

Ghasem Askari Nasab, director general of the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization’s branch in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, told IRNA on Tuesday that the bulk of the items include minerals, agricultural and horticultural products exported mainly to the destination of ports in China, India, and Bangladesh.

The improvement of port services and regular transportation arrangements helped increase the speed of exports from Chabahar Port, he noted.

According to the official, it is predicted that by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2024), the volume of non-oil exports from Chabahar Port will reach one million tons in weight.
