Govt. to revise list of minerals subject to tariff on raw material exports

During the 118th dialogue council of the government and the private sector on Saturday, it was decided for the government to revise the list of minerals and mining products that are subject to the tariff on the export of raw materials.

In the meeting, which was chaired by Finance and Economic Affairs Minister Ehsan Khandouzi, the attendees agreed that the list and amount of duties on raw and semi-raw minerals should be reviewed urgently in the next meeting of the government economic council to be approved by the cabinet by the end of the week, the ICCIMA portal reported.

The decision was made due to the private sector’s complain about the current 20 percent export tariffs on raw mineral exports.

Private sector operators active in the field believe that the 0.5 percent tariffs mentioned in the law is the ceiling that should be collected; But the Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade believes that this figure is the floor price and can be increased.
