Iran has become a member of the board of directors at the Association of Halal Certifiers (AHAC), IRNA reported.
During the fifth AHAC general assembly in Istanbul, Turkey, Ebrahim Ebrahimi, the head of Iran National Standards Organization (INSO)’s Halal Affairs and International Relations Office was elected as a new member of the board of the association.
Active participation in interactive sessions with the presence of the pioneers of the halal industry, examining the current trends and new directions in the halal market, coordinating the process of issuing halal certificates in Iran and the world, and ultimately facilitating trade, are among the important merits of this membership for Iran.
The Association of Halal Certifiers was formed in order to respond to the needs of organizations active in the food and cosmetic industries to ensure the production of halal and safe products. AHAC is responsible for determining the general requirements for acquiring Halal certification.
Concurrent with the AHAC general assembly, the world’s largest halal industry exhibition was held in Istanbul, Turkey from November 23 to 26, 2023.
Iranian companies also had a strong presence in this exhibition. Various products including foodstuff, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics were showcased in the mentioned exhibition.
