Iranian First Vice-President Mohammad Mokhber on Tuesday urged the need for enhancement of cooperation among Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member countries to create an advanced model of durable convergence.
The vice-president made the remarks during an online meeting of prime ministers of the SCO member countries.
He also called for creating a joint financial mechanism, as well as an energy security mechanism and integrated management of transit corridors and international information security.
Mokhber referred to the steps taken by Iran to develop an International North-South Corridor (INSTC) project which will facilitate trade access of Southern and Eastern Asian countries to Central Asia, Caucuses, Russia, Black Sea and Europe.
He said that all the SCO countries have to do their contribution to the implementation of this strategic corridor.
