Iran-China trade exchange at $4b in Q1 2024

Chinese customs announced on Monday that there was $4 billion worth of trade exchange between Iran and China in the first quarter of this year.

The trade with Iran between January and March this year grew by one percent compared to the same period in 2023 and reached $4.2 billion, according to IRNA based on figure from the Chinese customs department.

The exchanges between Iran and China in the first quarter in 2023 were announced to be $3.9 billion.

According to this report, in the first 3 months of this year, China imported more than $1.2 billion of goods from Iran, up by 10% compared to the previous quarter.

China’s exports to Iran in the months of January to March 2024 were $2.7 billion, down 3% compared to the same period last year.
