Iran’s 10-month non-oil trade with neighbors nears $41b: IRICA

Alireza Moqadasi said the weight of non-oil trade with the neighboring countries stood at 81.39 million tons, adding trade with the neighbors accounted for 51 percent of value and 61 percent of the weight of non-oil trade in the eight months, IRNA reported.

The official further stated that non-oil trade with the neighbors shows a 40 percent rise in value and a 17 percent growth in weight as compared to the same period of time in the past Iranian year.

Iraq with $7.29 billion, Turkey with $4.53 billion, the UAE with $3.8 billion, Afghanistan with $1.53 billion and Pakistan with $1.18 billion of imports from Iran were the country’s top export destinations among neighboring countries during this period, Moqadasi said.

Meanwhile, the UAE with $13 billion, Turkey with $4.23 billion, Russia with $1.32 billion, Iraq with $920 million and Oman with $453 million were the top exporting nations to the Islamic Republic among neighbors, according to the official.
