Iran’s elected rotating head of ECO Chamber of Commerce

 Iran has been elected as the rotating head of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Chamber of Commerce.

The decision was made during the organization’s 19th General Assembly on Tuesday online.

Turkey handed its three-year chairmanship of the ECO Chamber of Commerce to Iran during the virtual meeting.

The Economic Cooperation Organization or ECO is an Asian political and economic intergovernmental organization that was founded in 1985 in Tehran by the leaders of Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey.

It provides a platform to discuss ways to improve development and promote trade and investment opportunities.

ECO was founded in 1985 and its permanent headquarters are located in Tehran.
