Iran’s export of mining, mineral products up 12% in April: Report

 Figures show that Iran’s major mining and mineral companies exported some $951.9 million worth of various products in the calendar month to April 20, marking a 12% growth compared to same period last year.

According to data released by the IRNA on Tuesday, Iranian companies exported 4.687 million metric tons (mt) of various types of mining and mineral products in the first month of the current calendar year, registering a 55 percent hike in volume terms year on year.

The companies exported $34 million worth of iron ore concentrate, $27 million worth of cement chain products and $22.8 million worth of aluminum chain products to the target markets during the mentioned period.

Also, 281.4 mt of various types of products in mining and minerals sector, valued at $300.6 million, were imported into the country from March 21 to April 20 to meet the demands in domestic companies, showing increases of 55% and 19% in value and volume terms, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
