Export of agricultural products increased by 10% in the first 5 months of this year, the Iranian customs administration reported on Monday,
According to a report released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) in the first 5 months of this year of 1402 in the Iranian calendar(March 21-August 21, 2023), a total of 2,169 million tons of agricultural products worth 1.62 billion were exported to other countries.
During that period, the exports of agricultural products decreased by 7.7% in weight and increased by 10.14% in value.
Also in that period of five months, 7.749 million tons of agricultural products (crops) worth $4.346 billion were imported into Iran, which shows a decrease of 6.17% in weight and 19.34% in value.
Iraq, the United Arab Emirates and the Russian Federation were the major destinations for Iran’s exported crops.
In the 5 months of this year, $1.531 worth of agricultural products were imported from the United Arab Emirates, $549 million from the Russian Federation and 502 million from India.
