Markazi Exports Exceed $760m in Eight Months

Exports from Markazi Province reached 1.09 million tons worth $768.43 million during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21-Nov. 21), registering a 3% rise in terms of weight, but a 7% fall in value year-on-year, according to a local official.

“Aluminum ingot, chemicals, different kinds of hydrocarbons, liquefied gas, billet and profiles, and synthetic polyester fibers were the main exported products,” Alireza Seddiqi-Rad was also quoted as saying by IRIB News.

Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkey, Pakistan and Russia were the top destinations among the 82 countries to which goods were shipped from Markazi.

A total of 120,746 tons of goods worth $418.62 million were imported to the province during the same period, registering a 35% and 36% rise in terms of weight and value respectively.

The imports mainly included aluminum ingot, gas-based electricity generator, steel sheet, sunflower seed and coil.
