Minerals discovered in Iran in 2013-2022 valued at $28.7bn

Director of exploration of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation (IMIDRO) said here on Saturday that the value of mines discovered in Iran from 2013 up to the end of 2022 has amounted $28.7 billion.

Ahmad Fattahi said on Saturday that mining exploration activities had amounted to 1.773 million meters in the 10 year to the end of 2022. 

Fattahi added that the total proven mineral reserves discovered between 2013 and 2022 include 977 million metric tons (mt) of iron ore, 673 million mt of coal, 14 million mt of copper, 17 million mt of bauxite, 363 million mt of salt, 7 million mt of lead and zinc, and 182 mt of gold.
