The Director General of the Export Office of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) has said his organization has signed 30 deals with foreign partners to export technical and engineering services.
Mohammadreza Karimzadeh said the country has also dispatched several groups of engineers and technical contractors to Iraq, Russia, and China, IRNA reported.
“There is a prospect of growth in the country’s service exports this year, and so far, in addition to 30 technical and engineering contracts with different countries, delegations have been sent to China, Russia, and Iraq,” Karimzadeh said.
The official put the value of the exports of technical and engineering services in the previous Iranian calendar year at $1.292 billion, saying that Iran currently exports such services to more than 20 countries across the globe.
Referring to the serious will of the government to facilitate the export of technical and engineering services, Karimzadeh said: “To support cross-border activities in the field of exporting technical and engineering services, last year measures such as amending the executive regulations for supporting exporters of technical and engineering services (approved by the Cabinet of Ministers) ), the drafting of the support package for exporters of engineering and technical services and the drafting of the market development plan for engineering services in export target countries have been carried out.”
Emphasizing the support of the Iran Trade Promotion Organization for the exporters of technical and engineering services, he added: “Last year, we sent various trade delegations to Iraq, China, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Russia.”
