Commodities transited to or from Central Asian countries via Iran’s Sarakhs rail border quadrupled over the first 10 months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2021 – January 20, 2022), according to a local transportation official.
Mostafa Nasiri Varag, the director of Khorasan Railways, said that some 1.388 million tons of commodities were transited via the rail border during the 10-month period.
He said that Sarakhs railway has a 79 percent of the country’s rail transit to be the main rail transit border of the country.
