Iran’s agricultural and food exports rose by 22% in the 10 months to late January comparted with the same period last year, according to spokesman for the Trade Promotion Commission of Iran’s House of Industry, Mine and Trade Rouhollah Latifi.
Latifi said on Monday that Iran had exported over 6.7 million metric tones (mt) of agricultural, food, dairy, and fishery products from March 21, 2023 to January 20, 2024.
The figure was an increase of 8.4% in volume terms and a 22% rise in value terms compared to the same period last year, he added.
He said dairy, pistachios and tomatoes were the top three products exported from Iran’s food and agriculture sector over the 10 months to late January.
Iran’s agrifood exports reached 751,220 mt worth over $551 million from December 22 to January 20, registering a 16% rise in volume terms and a 21% growth in value terms compared to the same monthly period in 2023, said Latifi.
